postheadericon DUNK RETURNS FOR ARSENAL GAME

Brighton and Hove Albion will welcome club skipper Lewis Dunk back into their starting XI for the trip to the Emirates Stadium to face the Gunners in their last game of the season this weekend. The two teams will meet in North London on the final day of the season with a lot still to play for especially for Arsenal.

England international Dunk returns for the Arsenal game after serving a two-match ban for his red card in the recent defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers. The England defender was sent off in the second half of the Wolves game for a professional foul.

Dunk missed both the home games against London club West Ham United and newly crowned Premier League champions Manchester City as the Seagulls recorded four points from those two matches.

England international Dunk missed out on the 1-1 draw with the Hammers with both goals coming in the final six minutes of the game. England player Danny Welbeck scored for Brighton, while Algerian winger Said Benrahma scored for the Hammers. For the Manchester City game, Brighton came from two goals down against the 10-men to win the game 3-2 thanks to the second half goals from Leandro Trossard, Adam Webster and Dan Burn.Ilkay Gundogan and Phil Foden scored for the champions either side of the interval.

Ahead of the game between Arsenal and Brighton on Sunday evening, the Gunners can still qualify for European football via the seventh position occupied by North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the moment. Apart from Arsenal in ninth place and Spurs, Everton are also keen on qualifying for European football.

Seventh place is good enough for the newly introduced European Conference League and the trio of Arsenal, Spurs and Everton will fight for that position.
