The news is that the club’s manager Pep Guardiola has put pen to paper and extended his stay with the club by signing a new contract.

Several reports were linking the Spanish manager with a move away from the club having not signed any deal earlier. However, all those speculations and rumors appear to have been cooled off as the former Barcelona coach has agreed on a deal in principle with the club’s hierarchy and has inked his signature to a new contract.

Both the club and the manager were locked in negotiations last week as the Manchester club were looking to keep hold of one of their prized assets. And there has now been a confirmation that the deal has been agreed, signed, sealed, and delivered.

The new deal will see Guardiola remain at the club till at least the summer of June 2023. if he sees out this new deal, it would mean that he has spent seven years at the helm since taking over as the club’s head coach.

Pep, after signing the deal told Manchester City’s official website that since he came into the fold, both the club and the city have made him feel extremely welcome. He said the players, the staff, the fans, the club chairman Khaldoonal-Mubarak, club owner Sheikh Mansour, and the entirety of the people of Manchester have all been nice to him.

He continued that they have enjoyed superb moments together, especially on the pitch where they have recorded huge achievements, including scoring loads of goals, won games, won trophies, and added that they are proud of the success.
